United Arab Emirates
A defense sector client engaged Veracity to assess the political and corruption risks related to partnering with a UAE company with high-level government contacts and a controversial history.
Comprehensive reporting derived from extensive on-the-ground research and insight from extensive interviews with knowledgeable sources. Veracity traced the operating history of the company and provided a regulatory and procedural overview of typical contracts with specific UAE government entities and contrasted that to the operations of the target company. Veracity found that company principals had high level contacts to UAE government officials and likely had not followed proper procedure on prior contracts. Additionally, Veracity called into question the use of redundant and unnecessary pass-through entities in the contract chain.
Veracity’s assessment led the client to select a different local partner and to restructure the contract.
