We seek candidates who are curious by nature, possess a strong work ethic, are excellent writers, and can learn new skills quickly.


  • Conducting thorough, creative research on individuals and companies in global emerging markets through the lens of client interests
  • Producing high-quality written reports to clearly convey analysis to clients
  • Assisting senior colleagues in determining the scope of potential projects and supporting other business development efforts
  • Partnering with senior colleagues and advisors to develop reports, op-eds, articles, blog posts, presentations, and other forms of thought leadership


  • Up to five years of professional experience, particularly in energy, mining, banking, and private equity (although not limited to these industries)
  • Graduate degree in a relevant field (political science, international affairs, regional studies, journalism) preferred but not required
  • Interest and some experience in one or more countries in Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, China, or Asia
  • Sensitivity to the interplay of business and politics
  • Well-developed critical thinking and research skills
  • Track record of producing high-quality, concise written analysis
  • Excellent time-management skills; ability to work with minimal supervision and to handle a highly diverse set of requirements at any given time
  • Familiarity with ESG and compliance issues with an interest in helping companies maintain the highest integrity
  • Relevant foreign language skills (French, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Mandarin, Russian)
